Instructions

Preparation

  • Marinate the Carne Asada: In a gallon-sized zip-top bag, combine soy sauce, lime juice, garlic, olive oil, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Add the beef, seal the bag, and massage it lightly. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight for better flavor.
  • Heat the Skillet: Preheat a skillet over high heat. Add a touch of oil if needed.

Cooking

  • Sear the Beef: Lay the carne asada in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked to your liking (aim for medium-rare).
  • Rest and Slice: Remove the beef and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  • Warm the Tortillas: Sear the corn tortillas in the skillet for a few seconds on each side until slightly charred.

Assembly

  • Assemble Your Tacos: Place a slice of carne asada on a warm tortilla, sprinkle with cilantro and onions, and squeeze lime over the top.
  • Serve Immediately: Enjoy the tacos fresh and warm with your favorite drink.

Notes

Allowing the beef to marinate longer will enhance the flavor. Always serve tacos warm for best taste.
