  • 2 cups Cherry Compote Fresh, jarred, or frozen cherries (pitted) can be used.

For the Assembly

  • 2 cups Whipped Cream Homemade or store-bought.
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Shavings Use a vegetable peeler to create shavings from a chocolate bar.
  • optional Fresh Cherries for garnish Adds a pop of color.

Preparation

  • Bake your chocolate cake according to your recipe or use a store-bought one, ensuring it cools completely.

Layering

  • Tear or cut the cooled chocolate cake into chunks and layer them at the bottom of your trifle bowl.
  • Spoon cherry compote over the chocolate cake.
  • Dollop a layer of whipped cream over the cherries.
  • Repeat layers of chocolate cake, cherry compote, and whipped cream until the bowl is filled, finishing with a layer of whipped cream.

Garnish

  • Sprinkle chocolate shavings on top and add optional fresh cherries.
  • Serve immediately or chill for a short while to meld flavors.

Notes

For best results, let the cake cool completely before layering, and use quality ingredients for a richer flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
