Ingredients
  

For the Donuts

  • 2 tablespoons butter (plus extra for greasing the donut tin) For rich flavor and moisture.
  • cup sugar Granulated sugar for sweetness.
  • cup whole milk For creaminess; can substitute with any milk.
  • 1 large egg For structure and rise.
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract Enhances flavor.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Main ingredient; provides structure.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder Leavening agent.
  • ½ teaspoon salt Enhances flavor.
  • ¾ cup wild blueberries (plus 2 tablespoons, see recipe notes) Fresh wild blueberries for flavor.

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar For the glaze.
  • teaspoon vanilla extract Additional for glaze flavor.

Instructions
 

Baking the Donuts

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350ºF (180ºC) and grease the donut tin with melted butter.
  • Step 2: Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl for 20 to 30 seconds.
  • Step 3: Add sugar, milk, egg, and vanilla to the melted butter and whisk until smooth.
  • Step 4: Sift in the flour, baking powder, and salt, gently folding until halfway mixed.
  • Step 5: Fold in the blueberries until evenly distributed.
  • Step 6: Transfer the batter into a piping bag and pipe into the prepared donut tin.
  • Step 7: Bake for 13 to 15 minutes, then cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes.

Glazing

  • Step 8: In a small bowl, microwave 2 tablespoons of blueberries for 15 to 20 seconds, mash them, and strain for juice.
  • Step 9: In another bowl, sift powdered sugar, add vanilla, and mix in blueberry juice until the desired consistency.
  • Step 10: Spoon glaze over each donut and let set for at least 20 minutes.

Notes

Donuts can be enjoyed immediately or stored. They can be prepared in advance and even frozen before glazing.
