  • 1 30 oz bag frozen shredded hash browns Crispy on the edges but soft in the center.
  • 1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened Take it out of the fridge beforehand so it’s soft.
  • 1 cup sour cream Greek yogurt can also be substituted.
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese The star of the show for rich flavor.
  • 1 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled Or substitute with turkey bacon.

Binding Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs Acts as the binding agent.
  • 1 cup milk Plant-based option can be used.

Seasoning Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adds flavor without chopping fresh garlic.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder Feel free to add sautéed onions for more flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Essential for flavor enhancement.
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper For a little kick.

Other Ingredients

  • 1 spray cooking spray To prevent sticking.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Lightly coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Spread the frozen hash browns evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, mix cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
  • Stir in cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Spread the mixture evenly over the hash browns.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs and add milk, whisking until well combined.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the casserole, ensuring all ingredients are covered.
  • Gently press down with a spatula to soak into the layers.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-55 minutes until golden brown and the center is set.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Make sure ingredients are at room temperature for smoother texture. Leftovers can be stored tightly covered in the fridge for 3-4 days. Freezing is also an option, just add 15 minutes to baking time when cooking from frozen.
