  • 8 oz al dente pasta Penne or fusilli preferred.
  • 1 lb lean ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1 cup heavy cream or Greek yogurt Greek yogurt adds protein but has a tangy flavor.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or parmesan) Sharp cheddar for bold flavor, parmesan for nuttiness.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adds flavor and aroma.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Season generously.
  • Chopped parsley (optional) For garnish.

Preparation

  • Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the lean ground beef until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Lower the heat, then stir in the heavy cream (or Greek yogurt) and shredded cheese until melted and smooth.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of water or cream to prevent drying.
