Ingredients
  

For the Donuts

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour The backbone of our donuts.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar Provides sweetness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder Helps the donuts rise.
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda Gives the donuts a nice puff.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances sweetness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon Adds warmth and comfort.
  • 1/2 cup milk Adds moisture.
  • 1 large egg Binds the mixture together.
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter Adds richness.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Provides depth of flavor.

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar Main ingredient for glaze.
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder Adds chocolate flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons milk For a smooth glaze.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed, then spoon into the donut pan.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool.

Making the Glaze

  • While the donuts cool, whisk together powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and milk until smooth.
  • Once the donuts are cool, dip the tops into the glaze and let set.

Notes

To keep donuts moist, store in an airtight container with a slice of bread. They can also be frozen with parchment in between layers.
