  • 1/2 cup mustard Spicy Dijon recommended, but honey mustard works well too.
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded Melts beautifully into the mustard for a delightful sauce.
  • to taste salt and pepper Essential for enhancing the flavors.
  • to drizzle olive oil or cooking spray Ensures a crispy finish to the chicken.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
  • Set up a breading station with three bowls: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for pretzel crumbs.
  • Dip each chicken breast in flour, shaking off the excess, then coat in the beaten eggs, and finally roll in the pretzel crumbs.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the coated chicken on it.
  • Drizzle lightly with olive oil or spray with cooking spray.

Cooking

  • Bake the chicken for 25-30 minutes or until cooked through and the crust is golden brown.
  • While the chicken is baking, mix mustard and cheddar cheese in a small saucepan over medium heat until the cheese has melted.
  • Once the chicken is done, plate it alongside the creamy mustard-cheddar sauce for drizzling.

Notes

Don't skip seasoning to enhance the flavors. Allowing the chicken to rest for a few minutes post-cooking retains moisture.
