Ingredients

Crust Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups crushed vanilla wafers Use any brand, but avoid crushing them too finely for texture.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar Could substitute with brown sugar for a deeper flavor.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted Essential for crispy texture; use unsalted for better control of sweetness.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine crushed vanilla wafers and granulated sugar.
  • Pour in the melted butter and mix until well combined.
  • Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a pie pan.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, then allow to cool completely before filling.

Notes

For a thicker crust, increase crushed wafers to 2 cups. Let it chill before filling for best results. Experiment with flavors by adding extracts like almond or mint. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
