  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Preferably plain
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Use the real deal
  • 1/4 cup minced garlic Adjust to taste
  • 1 large egg Acts as the binder
  • 1/2 cup milk For moisture
  • 1 tsp salt Or to taste
  • 1 tsp black pepper For flavor
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning Do not skip
  • 1 tbsp ketchup or barbecue sauce Optional, for topping

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • In a large bowl, mix the ground beef (or turkey), breadcrumbs, garlic, Parmesan, egg, milk, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning until well combined.
  • Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it on a lined baking sheet or in a loaf pan.
  • Drizzle with ketchup or barbecue sauce if desired.

Cooking

  • Bake for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  • Let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Serving

  • Slice your meatloaf and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

Letting the meatloaf rest after cooking makes for a juicier slice. Feel free to add vegetables like sautéed onions or bell peppers for extra flavor.
