  • 1/2 cup peanut butter Choose creamy or crunchy based on your preference.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Use semi-sweet or dark chocolate.
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup Can be substituted with honey or agave for a healthier option.
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce Choose a quality brand for the best flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds depth to the flavor.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances the sweetness.

Preparation

  • Blend the pitted dates in a food processor until smooth.
  • Add peanut butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt; blend until well mixed.
  • Press the mixture evenly into a lined baking pan.
  • Sprinkle the chopped almonds over the date mixture and gently press them in.
  • Heat the caramel sauce in a small saucepan until warm and pour it over the almond layer.
  • Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or over a double boiler; pour over the caramel layer.
  • Refrigerate until firm (about 1 hour), then cut into bars and serve.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. For freezer storage, wrap in parchment paper and place in a freezer bag for about a month.
