  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Juicy and tender, these are the stars of the show.
  • 1/2 cup good quality whiskey Preferably a smooth Irish whiskey.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Foundation of richness, don’t substitute with light cream.
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth Use low-sodium for better control of saltiness.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Classic aromatic.
  • 1 medium onion, chopped Another classic aromatic; can substitute with shallots for gourmet touch.
  • to taste salt Essential for seasoning.
  • to taste black pepper Essential for seasoning.
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped For garnish.

Cooking Steps

  • Heat a drizzle of oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, add them to the skillet, and brown for about 6-7 minutes on each side.
  • Once browned, remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onions and minced garlic until softened.
  • Deglaze the pan with the whiskey, letting it simmer for about 2 minutes to pick up brown bits.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and chicken broth slowly, maintaining a smooth texture.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet, cover, and let it simmer on low for 10-15 minutes.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat slowly on the stove to prevent drying out.
