  • 1 tsp paprika Adds smoky flavor.

  • Cooked egg noodles or rice for serving To soak up the sauce.

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until onions are softened and translucent, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Add sliced mushrooms and cook until browned, around 5-7 minutes.
  • Add chicken strips and cook until no longer pink, about 5-6 minutes.
  • Sprinkle flour over the mixture, stir, and cook for another minute.
  • Pour in chicken broth, stirring to combine, and bring it to a gentle simmer.
  • Reduce the heat to low, stir in sour cream and sprinkle paprika.
  • Cook for another 5 minutes until heated through, adjusting salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve over egg noodles or rice.

Notes

For best results, prepare ingredients ahead of time. Use good-quality broth for depth of flavor. Creaminess improves with a few minutes off the heat.
