  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded Rotisserie chicken can save time.
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced Use cremini or button mushrooms for earthy flavor.
  • 1 cup heavy cream For richness and creaminess.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese For topping.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced For aromatic flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For sautéing.
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme For herbal note.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté minced garlic for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add sliced mushrooms and cook for 4-5 minutes until softened.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked chicken, sautéed mushrooms, heavy cream, half of the cheddar cheese, and dried thyme. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 baking dish and smooth it out.
  • Top with the remaining cheddar cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
  • Let cool for a few moments before serving.

Notes

Leftovers taste even better the next day. Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
