Oven-Fried Feta Rolls with Chili Honey

Ingredients
  

For the Filling

  • 8 oz feta cheese, crumbled Tangy and high in protein.
  • 8 oz ricotta cheese Adds creaminess.
  • 1/4 cup fresh herbs (parsley, dill, etc.) Adds freshness.
  • to taste salt and pepper For seasoning.

For the Rolls

  • 1 package phyllo dough Ensure it's thawed.
  • 1/4 cup olive oil For brushing.

For the Chili Honey

  • 1/2 cup honey Sweet base for the sauce.
  • 1-2 teaspoons chili flakes Adjust to spice preference.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a bowl, mix the crumbled feta, ricotta, and fresh herbs. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Lay out a sheet of phyllo dough and brush lightly with olive oil. Add another layer and brush again.

Assembly

  • Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture at one end of the phyllo sheet. Fold in the sides and roll tightly.
  • Place the rolls seam side down on a lined baking sheet and brush tops with olive oil.

Baking

  • Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • While baking, gently heat honey in a small pot and stir in chili flakes.

Serving

  • Serve warm, drizzled with the chili honey.

Notes

Watch your phyllo dough; keep it covered to prevent drying out. Experiment with different herbs and cheeses for variations!
