  • 1 lb beef (sliced thinly) Flank steak or sirloin works best.
  • 1 cup beef broth Use low-sodium if desired.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Low-sodium soy sauce can be used.
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar Balances the salty soy sauce.
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil Adds nuttiness — use cautiously.
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced) Essential for flavor.
  • 1 tsp ginger (grated) Fresh ginger recommended.
  • to taste sesame seeds (for garnish, optional) Add for texture and visual appeal.

Instructions
 

Cooking Noodles

  • Cook egg noodles according to package instructions with a little salt in the water. Drain and set aside.

Cooking Beef and Sauce

  • In a large pan, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add minced garlic and grated ginger; sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add sliced beef to the pan, cooking undisturbed for a minute to brown.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, and brown sugar.
  • Pour the sauce mixture over the browned beef and bring to a simmer for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Toss in the cooked egg noodles, mixing gently to coat them in the sauce.

Serving

  • Garnish with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For best results, choose tender cuts of beef and prepare garlic and ginger in advance. Feel free to add vegetables for added nutrition.
