Ingredients
  

For the Marinade

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Low-sodium recommended
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar Light or dark, depending on preference
  • 2 tablespoons honey Adds sweetness and glaze
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Important for flavor
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated Fresh ginger recommended

For the Main Dish

  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or tenderloin, cut into bite-sized pieces) Uniform sizes for even cooking

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add the bite-sized pieces of steak to the marinade and coat well. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Remove the steak from the marinade, reserving the marinade.

Cooking

  • Sear the steak bites in the skillet, cooking for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
  • Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet and let it bubble and thicken for a few minutes, coating the steak bites.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with green onions if desired.

Notes

For best results, let the steak rest after cooking, and give it time to absorb the marinade flavors.
